Inspiration
Inspiration is a concept mapping tool that allows student to create concept maps and webs, integrate visual and multi-media representations of those webs through the use of symbols and embedded hyperlinks, videos and audio, and then export those concepts maps to a word processing program for use as the foundation of a paragraph or report.

MovieMaker
MovieMaker is a program that comes free with Windows XP.  It can be used to edit digital video along with still pictures and audio to create a finished movie.  In this project you will import video from a camera, import video from source files, narrate a portion of the video, add a soundtrack to your video, add a title and credits to your video, and add video transitions.

Report Writer is a writing program that provides prompts and templates for writing assignments for students.  This program is ideal for students who are just learning to write sentences, paragraphs, reports, or any style of writing.

Scholastic Keys
Scholastic Keys is a series of programs that provide a kid-friendly interface and educational enhancements for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Max Write sits on top of Microsoft Word, Max Count sits on top of Excel, and Max Show on top of PowerPoint.  Best of all, because Scholastic Keys leverages Microsoft technology, Keys files can be easily shared with anyone who has Microsoft office, so they go easily from school to home.  This program is ideal for students from Kindergarten through fifth grade who are beginning to do word processing, desktop publishing, data calculation and analysis, or multi-media presentation.

Kid Pix

Kid Pix Deluxe 4 for Schools combines art and graphics tools with a feature that allows students to display their Kid Pix work in a slideshow format or to export as graphics files for use in other software programs.

 

This module has a tour of the Kid Pix art and graphics tools as well as two projects, one slideshow project and one picture/graphics project.
